Poetic Licence Shoes
I went to Nordstrom the other day set in my mind to find the Steve Madden Tipie Ballet Flats in silver or gold that I posted about last month. Through the sea of crowded tables filled with patent leather flats and metallic shoes stood a large Poetic Licence display filled with bright, fun, and colorful printed shoes that were different from all the rest. These Check Mate flats in green ($64.95 also available in black, navy, and red) called to me. The green canvas and the fun striped ribbon was so whimsical and different from anything else in my closet. (Therefore a great way to justify to myself to buy them now!) These shoes are sooo comfortable too with a soft lining inside and rubber soles. Basically, they are cute flat sneakers in disguise! Now I don't have to skimp on comfort and cuteness!
And as for those metallic Steve Madden Tipie flats, they didn't have them in my size. Alas, I'll just have to force myself to wear my Poetic Licence Check Mate flats and have more fun.
Here's more shoes from Poetic Licence, my new favorite shoe brand:
Zebra striped Check Mate ($64.95)
Starfish Sandal ($89.95)
Dollface Pump ($98.95)
Day Dreaming Pump ($89.95)
Simple Life Flat ($78.95)
Splashflat ($64.95)

I just got the Dollface Pump (in red) at Daffy's on SALE for ....... $15
I couldn't believe it! Love my new pumps!!

Wickedspice, I just got the PL "Tease" as well. The taupe/brown ones. I think they would go really well with both skirts and trousers, especially wide legged ones. As far as coloring goes, I'm having the same problem! Any ideas out there? Thanks,
Amy

Those shoes are so cute. They would be adorable to wear with colored tights (or just simply black ones) and a fun flouncy skirt! And if the weather isn't snowing or raining, pairing them with jeans always works!

I just got P.L. "Tease" shoes. I love them! But I seem to be having a fashion block as to what to wear them with. Anyone have any suggestions as to colors, styles, trousers vs. skirts? I think I'm most stuck on colors.
Thanks!

Hi Cindy,
Mine didn't have an odor at all! I don't think I could have handled it if it did. I don't know which shoe you got but that seems odd. Take it back to the store and ask them if they all smell. Maybe it was part of that particular shipment?

I bought my first pair at Nordstrom's last weekend. They are the cutest shoes and comfortable as well....BUT...they have a terrible odor to them!!! I didn't notice it in the store. When I got home and took them out of the box, I was almost knocked out by the stink!! It's kind of a chemical smell that I think is coming from the soles. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want to, but I may have to return them if this smell doesn't go away!!

I found the zebra striped check mate at Emerald's in Austin, TX and FELL IN LOVE! I couldn't justify something so "whimsical" for a business casual wardrobe. THANK GOD! for my sister and cousin. They saw the desire and got these for my birthday. I have worn them with outfits I never imagined! FABULOUS!

The Doll Face is one of my new favorite shoes...and I see a lot of shoes because I own a shoe boutique. Looking for the latest styles of Poetic License (including two you've shown above)...check out www.habitatshoes.com. Their new arrivals, but they should be uploaded by the end of the week (June 15th).
