Natalie Portman's got her own designer shoe collection through Te Casan. The shoes are all vegan, meaning they are animal friendly. You can view the entire Natalie Portman Shoe Collection.
From the site:
Portman worked closely throughout to maintain quality standards and an exceptional design aesthetic. Dazzling, playful, elegant and free of animal products, each shoe exudes the starlet’s own personal style. All of Portman’s proceeds will be donated to the Nature Conservancy, a non profit that works tirelessly to protect ecologically fragile lands and bodies of water. The shoes are in limited edition as there are only up to 100 pairs of shoes per size and style. You can feel good that all the profits will benfit a good cause. Currently you can pre-order the shoes you like by calling 1-877-TECASAN. They mention more styles will be updated on the site soon.
Here are the shoes I'm loving:

Pippa ($235)
Platinum metallic polished faux-calf Mary Jane. Definitely the highlight of the entire collection.

Paloma ($245)
Silver fabric sandal with rhinestone buckle.

Seems a bit pretentious to me to sell mediocre, vegan shoes at such a high price. The shoes are just okay, nothing fabulous.

I was so excited when I found out that Natalie Portman had designed some vegan shoes, but once I saw the price I was far from excited. I thought they would be cheaper since they weren't real leather or suede, but sadly that wasn't the case. I'll have to pass on them, I SO don't have that kind of money.

I've seen other vegan shoes that are affordable and cute. These shoes look like so many others I have seen on the market.
I LOVE Ms. Portman but I will pass on the high priced dull shoes.

vegan shoes are cool but i bet most of the clothes she is wearing come from small factorys in india and nepal where kids the age of 5 are working allday and getting paid pennys!!..ilike the idea of these fairtrade clothes shoes etc but hopefully somedy they'll make this stuff cheaper so us non celebs and non rich ppl can actually afford it!!...nat does look good in them tho

It's all very well to say 'Cheap, synthetic shoes are vegan anyway', but then again, those are usually made by penniless Bangladeshis in sweatshops. I totally support vegan products, but cheap shoes are almost always cheap because SOMEONE in the production line is getting paid peanuts. Now ok, it doesn't explicitly say so here, but the fact they cost more is an indicator: I bet if you read up on it you'll find that Natalie's taken this into account and worked it out fairer - plus the proceeds go to charity anyway, unlike your average synthetic shoe. That sounds like an all-round goodie to me! You rock, Ms Portman :)

I agree with some of the other comments, the shoes are cute, but why do they have to be so expensive!? They aren't even leather. I could probably get some similar for really cheap if they weren't from her line.

Natalie,
You are a rich girl! Please make your vegan shoes affordable for EVERYONE. Shame on you!

I m happy that there are some cute shoes available, but, if they are made form synthetic materials, why are they so damn expensive? I can't afford shoes that cost that much!

wait...aren't all shoes constructed from man-made materials technically vegan? heck, i thought every shoe at Payless was vegan.

I'm not really feeling her line of shoes, yes it may be for a good cause but there's other things we can do besides make "vegan" shoes. I don't think her shoes have much personality to them.

Oh that darned Natalie Portman! Making me a conscientious shoe-shopper!

These are beautiful: great to see celebrities get involved with the cause - I always check Vegetarian Shoes and Bags. They have an extensive range of Vegan Shoes and Vegan Bags.
