The Perfect Black Flats

You know when you have your mind set on something it's so hard to find? That's where I am right now. I go through black flats so fast and I always need a few different pairs depending on occasion. I find myself now having more dressier black flats, like my Marc Jacobs patent and suede bow flats or my recent sale purchase of Juicy Couture's black suede flats. They are cute but they aren't so conducive for walking around and doing errands in the city. That's why I'm loving these Poetic Licence Lyin Eyes Flats ($93 at Zappos). They are still cute and stylish -- prefect for jeans or cute Summer dresses or skirts but with the rubber soles so you can actually run and catch your train in these shoes!
Here are more black flats I adore (all with rubber soles), some are on sale too!

Kenneth Cole Reaction Celeb Sighting ($79 at Piperlime)

Sesto Meucci Baby (On sale for $71.99 at Piperlime)

Bandolino Galaxy (On sale for $29.99 at Piperlime, size 7 & 8 available)

Report Veronica Flats (On sale for $44.99 at Piperlime)

Stuart Weitzman Quilty ($270 at Zappos)

Gabriella Rocha Nicolet Flats ($55 at Zappos)

Bandolino Texxa Mary Jane Flats ($69 at Zappos)

Wow!! Looking nice!!

I have been agonizing over finding the perfect black flats ever since mine have worn out after almost four years. I adore the first ones you've put up, but I am looking for something more affordable. Great shoes, though -- all of them !

Thank you for the great rundown of affordably chic black ballet flats. You have given some great options. Especially the Gabriella Rocha.

just wanted to say that the second picture is of Me Too's Olyvia flat. i own that exact pewter version, and they're so comfortable that i think my feet are married to them.

I dig the Bandolino, Stuart Weitzman, and Gabrielle Rocha's, and all have a quiet, and classic chicness to them.

Im not a flat fan at all, but I like the poetic license you show @top. The only flats I have, which I happen to (mega) splurge for a style that im not a big fan of are my chie miharas I sooooo love.
But other than that I agree with you a nice black pair of flats.

As a busy working woman, I am always looking for shoes like these that are stylish, yet practical. I found these adorable Cynthia Vincent flats at

They are retro and elegant with a modern flare. I love the thick ankle strap, and the leather bottom makes them extremely comfortable. They're on sale, too!
