If you're in the Houston, TX area don't miss Chloe Dao "Lightness", her 2010 Spring Fashion Show this Saturday, April 17th at 7:30pm. Buy your tickets at her LOT 8 boutique or online at warehouselive.com.
Boyfriend Blazers are still going strong for spring and actually work well in any weather. I like the fact that it can be worn casually in the day with jeans or dressed up for night on the town. Lauren Conrad rocks the look on a recent night out, pairing her boyfriend blazer with Heartloom's black silk Joey romper ($134 at Boutique to You) along with patterned tights and a classic Chanel flap bag. Definitely get one in basic black then add more to your wardrobe either in navy or gray.
I've found a few affordable and stylish boyfriend blazers for you here:
I now am on a search to find these gorgeous Gerard Darel Bow Sandals. How cute are they in metalic gold with the tiny subtle bow on the side? They look so perfect for spring/summer and would go with any outfit. I haven't been able to find them online at any shop so if you happen to spot them, please leave me a comment.
If you've got an iPhone, iPod Touch or even the new iPad download the free Elle Shopping Guide App for a great way to find stores in your favorite city. The updated version now has 7 additional cities which now covers: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
You can select the city where you want to shop and find stores. Say yes to location awareness and you'll be able to find stores near you in an instant! I also love the GPS maps so you can click on the globe icon next to a store's address to pop open your google map. You'll never get lost going shopping again! You can also see special offers for a particular store as well. I have this loaded up on both my iPhone and iPad. It's a fantastic shopping app!
On a trip to various department stores trying to find myself the Chanel nail poilish Particuliere (sold out pretty much everywhere I went), I came across the new Chanel line of lipsticks called Rouge Coco staring Vanessa Paradis. I wanted a lipstick with more pink for spring, but not necessarily pink. You know how hard it is, right? To find just that exact one you want. The makeup artist promptly had me try on Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle which is the same color Vanessa is wearing. He said that this color pretty much looked good on every woman and skin tone. Wow, at least for me was he right. It was the perfect shade that wasn't nude or too pink and gave me the right color I needed.
Vanessa Paradis is a A-list huge star in France who started out as a young pop star/actress in her early teens. It's amazing to see that in the U.S. she's simply Johnny Depp's girlfriend. Watch the commerical and go behind the scenes to see Vannessa in action.
And as for the must have limited edition nail polish, Particuliere was sold out in every top department store in SF. I also saw that it's going for upwards of $50 on eBay. Honestly, I'm not one to be obsessed with nail color but I just had to have it since it seemed like such a great neutral color that wasn't nude, black, or pink/red. I went online to Chanel.com and it was easily available! So if you're looking for the color of the season, pick up Chanel Particuliere for $23 and get two Chanel samples of your choice too! I also got free shipping and no tax. Such a great deal!
I love the new bags from Chloe, specifically this Chloe Marci Horseshoe Hobo ($1595 at Neiman Marcus) as seen on Katie Holmes. She has the special python version but what caught my eye was the size and color. The light tan color makes it feel like spring and the larger shape lets you hold all your essentials and more! (I also love the smaller sized brown tote as seen on Rachel Bilson.) Of course, with large price tag not everyone can afford a bag like this to wear for just a few months so I've collected some equally cute and affordable hobos and totes in tan, cream or white which will stylishly take you through to the end of August.
As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers". So far it's been raining most of the week in San Francisco. Which got me to thinking about how much I needed a trench coat to help me transition to spring. With ruffles still going strong as a trend, I'm loving these trench coat options with stylized ruffles. Pictured above is The Limited's Ruffle Lapel Trench ($128) and Elie Tahari's Lana Ruffled Trench Coat ($275 at Bloomingdales, also in Bloat). Both are stylish and affordable.
