As iPads and tablets start to become our on-the-go laptop replacements, I love how they are being integrated into handbag designs. First I noted on Proenza Schouler's chic PS1iPad clutch last week. Today, I stumbled upon Diane von Furstenberg's Harper Connect Leather Daybag ($695 at DVF.com) while browsing her Fall 2011 Lookbook. The Harper bag comes in black and luggage and looks like a stylish vintage handbag with it's large buckle and chain-link handle. What I love best about the bag is the great techy-thinking it incorporated into the design. Instead of having to take out your iPad from the inside pocket, all you have to do is pull down the zippers on the back of the hand bag to start using your digital tablet. Stylish genius that only Diane von Furstenberg could do!
