I recently walked through the new Sephora on Powell Street in SF. They had a whole section on all the high-tech hairdryers. Mine at home was on it's last legs so I decide to take the plunge. The Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer is $195 at Sephora. I ended up getting their Peace on Earth Good Hair to All limited edition box set which was a great deal for only $200 and I received the hairdryer along with a round brush, shower cap, hair clips, and two travel-sized hair products. Unfortunately, this set is gone but if you are looking for a big set, I would get The Basics Bundle ($295) sold on the drybar website and pictured above. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck and the brushes will really help you get that sleek blowout. I also like that this version comes with full sized products. I also have to say, I love the terry-lined shower cap so you can keep your hair looking good between your own blow out sessions.
Now about the hair dryer. One of the top reasons I love this one is that it blow dries my long hair FAST. I can section off my hair easily with their clips (I have my own as well) and use their round brush to get that sleek straight hair that I love. The heat on this dryer isn't super hot. At the highest setting it works well but I like that it's not going to burn you at any of the settings. The motor isn't that loud either which I like. I also use it on my 7 year old daughter who has long straight hair and this dryer has also cut her hair drying time. (Less complaining) Her hair also looks shiny too! So to me, it justifies the price since we are both using it.
They have a bunch of video tutorials on the Drybar You Tube Channel that you can watch to get the result you want.
