David Lynch directs the latest Lady Dior film (chapter 3) starring Marion Cotillard called Lady Blue Shanghai. A place dear to my heart since my father is from there. This film plays true to David Lynch's quirky, mysterious style. Love it!

The September Issue is out today on DVD everywhere and I recommend getting this one for your movie library. I loved watching the documentary which showed behind the scenes how the famous fall September issue gets created and goes to press. You can get the 2 disc double issue edition + a bonus DVD featuring a never-before-seen “The Met Ball” mini-documentary directed by R.J. Cutler for only $20.99 exclusively at Barnes & Noble stores and online at bn.com.
Personally, I'm not infatuated with all the intrigue over Anna Wintor and her demeanor, but it was cool to watch this smart lady at work. Who impressed me the most is Vogue's Creative Director, Grace Coddington a former model turned stylist/creative who's creative talent I've enjoyed from years of reading Vogue (and had no idea). She's a contrast to Wintor yet you realize from the documentary that the two women are essential to Vogue. It was great to see her in action in photoshoots and how she can get inspired even up to the last minute when changes and redos need to be done.
"She is charming, delightful, passionate and so committed to celebrating beauty and her revolutionary notion that clothes, models and photographers could tell stories and not just be objects," Cutler says. "Every billboard, fashion magazine spread, every advertisement we see today has been influenced by Grace Coddington."
My favorite moment is watching Coddington at Versailles in France doing a couture shoot where she overlooks the gardens and later makes a model eat a pastry while dressed in couture.
If you are in the NY area on Thursday, Feb 25th, head on over to Barnes & Noble for a special event!
Director R.J. Cutler along with editors featured in the film, Vogue’s Editor-At-Large André Leon Talley and Vogue’s Creative Director Grace Coddington, will join a discussion with special guest moderator, Vogue columnist and contributing editor, William Norwich at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in Manhattan (33 East 17th Street at Union Square) on Thursday, February 25th. The event starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and no tickets are required. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
I'm getting my TV junkie side on tonight 10pm EST/PST with the premiere of Bravo's Kel on Earth, Kelly Cutrone's new reality TV show. I don't know how "real" it is but I love the take of behind the scenes fashion.
A new season of Project Runway starts Thursday, January 14th at 10pm ET/PT on Lifetime! This time the fashion designers will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity using HP TouchSmart PCs and HP TouchSmart tm2 notebooks, both powered with Intel processors. The screen of the tm2 can be rotated around and converted to slate mode, morphing it into a sketchpad with digital pen. This allows the designers to draw, sketch and take notes with lots of options for colors, brushes and effects. Personally, I've drawn before using a wacom tablet and my computer but never directly on the screen. This will be pretty cool to watch! I totally want to try one out.
You'll also have the chance to get involved and win by entering the Judge Your Way to a New Notebook contest which goes live on January 14th. Just enter and predict your choices for the final top three designers that will show their collections at New York’s Fashion Week. If you guess correctly, you will be entered to win a premium HP Envy 15 notebook PC powered by the latest Intel processor.
I love the MTV reality show, "The City", even though I know it's far from reality. I've noticed that Whitney Port always has this fresh faced LA glow no matter what. Stylehive showcases the products in Whitney Port's daily beauty routine that she talked about on her blog. I'm off to Sephora to get the NARS blush. (I love NARS!)
