Hoop earrings are a staple in my collection. I love how easily they can create a stylish look. I just bought these Kris Nations Large Gold Hoop Earrings ($68 at krisnations.com) a few months ago and have been wearing them all the time. Kris is a good friend of mine and I swear whenever I am wearing her earrings or necklaces, I get tons of compliments. I love these hoops because they are so light and thin that they don't overpower my face. Gold hoops are just perfect for day and evening. They are also easy for travel when you want to accessorize on your vacation. The earrings are reclaimed 14K gold filled and you can also get it in silver or reclaimed 14K rose gold.
I had an amazing crochet lunch today with my crafty friends: Lorraine and Guinevere from Chronicle Books, as well as our crochet expert Dolin "Crochet" O'Shea from Lulu Bliss. Our inspiration was this new book, So Pretty! Crochet by Amy Palanjian and the crochet ring necklace (pictured below). I had never crocheted with embroidery thread over rings before so this was a fun new technique to try. It was also fun to see newbie crocheters like Guinevere and Lorraine learn the stitches and get excited as they finished a crocheted circle.
Here are Instagram photos from us this afternoon. Just seeing them again makes me feel all cozy.
This project was by Victoria of Lavenderfield and you can see a closer view of the necklace above and more beautiful crochet jewelry by Victoria on Amy Palanjian's blog.
I like that I can stash these little plastic circles, embroidery thread, and crochet hook in my bag and crochet a little circle to add to a stash that will eventually turn into this necklace. it's a great gift to make for friends too.

With spring in the air, I've gotten a couple of little ladybugs flying into my condo, even though I'm a few stories up. Ladybugs are part of the beetle family and it's always wonderful to see these colorful insects among plants and flowers.
Designer Diana Eng has a new line of ladybug pins ($75 each) that are fashioned after 11 different species of ladybugs. Made from silver these bugs are handpainted with enamel. Each pin is lifesize and measures 3/16" S 5/16". My 3 1/2 year old loves ladybugs and I have pinned our pin (we have "h" as shown below, the fifteen-spotted lady bettle) onto her dresses. It's like she has a little friend when she goes out. Pin a few on and no doubt you'll have a few conversations started.
I love jewelry but it's even better when it's multi-purpose. The Swarovski Crystal Gloss Jewels ($75-$85) is something that is both beautiful to wear on a night out. I love that you can wear it around your neck and give yourself little touch ups throughout the night. If you don't want to wear it around your neck, you can also place this beautiful little gloss in your clutch or evening bag. There are three styles to choose from: Crystal Touch Pink, Crystal Gloss Transparent, and the Crystal Touch which features a larger crystal in the pendant's circle peak.
I received the Crystal Touch necklace to review and I love how the pendant top easily slides to reveal the lip gloss. I love the shine which is thanks to the powdered, micronized Swarovski crystal iridescent pearls in its formula! The necklace can also work well in the day as a statement piece over a dress or long top.
The lip gloss pendant launches in conjunction of Swarovski's first new signature fragrance called Aura by Swarovski which is an incandescent, fruity, floral creation.

Instead of piling and layering on jewelry, I am loving the look of simple statement pieces that don't overcrowd an outfit. These Diana earrings ($65) by Liz James in Chalcedony is just the right color to stand out and compliment Jennie Garth's spring white dress when she made an appearance on the Today show. I can see myself wearing these everyday. You can also choose from a variety of stones. (And yes, I kinda can't wait to check out Jennie's new reality TV show, A Little Bit Country.)
Coach unveiled their Fall 2012 Legacy Collection on Monday night with a little preview party in Manhattan which I was so excited to attend. The collection is a new line based on the original bag designs Coach is so well known for, but with a 2012 twist of eye popping colors along with accessories, jewelry, sunglasses and shoes to match.
I grew up with Coach, so perhaps I am a bit nostalgic for the simple saddle bag with the lovely, functional clasp. I can't wait to buy the highlighter yellow duffle, wide and narrow cuffs in every eye-popping color, and the iPad case when they all go on sale August 1st. (We'll keep you posted when these beauties launch.) I'm swooning for the Men's line too – it's that good. My favorite is the brown courier bag with double clasp closure. Yes, please!
By the way, do you know where the signature Coach clasp comes from? (I just learned this myself at the party.) Turns out, designer Bonnie Cashin was inspired by the fasteners on the top of her convertible. Now this iconic clasp continues to shine again in the Coach Legacy Collection.
Somewhere between orange and red, the color coral is quickly heating up spring. I am loving the color in jewelry especially paired with gold, it can bring a wonderful warmth and color to any outfit. All of the picks above are available at endless.com.
