Kris Nations' new 2012 Trend Collection is inspired by the art and architecture of the American Southwest. which mixes Art Deco style from the 1920s and 30's with the vibrant colors and decorative motifs of Navajo textiles and Zuni pottery. I love the burst of color that these pieces can bring to an entire outfit. Her pieces are the perfect Valentine's Day gifts too!
This iNecklace ($75) by Adafruit is a fun way to show off your geeky tech side. The aluminum necklace features a pulsating LED pendant reminiscent of the Apple "breathing" LED on Macs. Before you wear it out, just pop the battery in and the LED will gently pulsate for up to 72 hours. And even better geeky news? The iNecklace is completely open source! Watch the video below to see it in action.
Inspired by family festivities, the Holiday 2011 Collection by Elva Fields feature sparkly dramatic pieces that are perfect for your holiday events.
"For our Holiday 2011 Collection, we called upon the idea of friends and family gathering for holiday celebrations. Family history, festive occasion, tradition with a mix of whimsy, a blending of old and new, and the colorful moments that only familial get-togethers can conjure, all play part in the collection - truly something for every woman this holiday and beyond."
- Elva Fields' designer Emily Maynard
Elva Fields is also offering these limited-edition vintage lucite glitter earrings. These earrings are $30 which also includes including gift packaging and shipping. For every purchase, $10 donated to Backpack Buddies of Spencer County, a program that provides healthy snacks and food to local children dependent on the school district for most meals (Three times more than Elva Fields’ standard donation for each online purchase). Hurry, these earrings will only be available for a limited time for the month of December 2011.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Holiday 2011 collection:
Are you starting to think about holiday gifts? Look no further as I will be posting about my favorites here on Coquette. First up for mom, auntie, or the BFF in your life, I love this beautiful Peacock Ring Holder ($38 at Poketo). Made from white porcelain, the ring holder is a stylish accent to hold your everyday rings.
With the upcoming holidays and the endless amount of parties, nothing will pull your outfit together or give it a good update than some new jewelry. JewelMint, founded by stylist Cher Coulter and actress Kate Bosworth, is one of my recent favorite go-to places to find stylish and affordable jewelry. By becoming a member to the site, you'll be able to get amazing necklaces, earrings, rings and more for just $29.99 each!
I got a chance to pick two of my favorite pieces this month (which was very hard)! I decided to center on two items that would take me through daily life as well as holiday dinners and parties. My absolute favorite is my new Serpentine necklace. This silver and 14K gold plated herringbone chain necklace looks great paired with a LBD or slinky sexy dresses like this Radenroro Soleha Balloon Sleeve Dress in silver. I love the mixed metal look and how this simple statement necklace can make an entire outfit. It also dresses up a casual outfit too. (The Serpentine Necklace is currently out of stock but will be back in stock soon.)
My other pick this month is the Black Swan Cuff. I love this piece paired with denim and this black Tinley Road Knotted Top. The slate colored hematite and the layered plating gives this cuff such a unique look. The cuff itself looks great alone or use it as a centerpiece to stack up other bangles and bracelets around it.

I'm in love with simple statement necklaces and this Ellington Necklace at Anthropologie is only $48 and only available online. The antique-style brass necklace features plum, amber, and tangerine crystals – a perfect (and easy) way to bring color to your wardrobe this fall.
I've spent many years interviewing inspirational artisans who create beautiful handmade things. It's one of my favorite things to do and I'm bringing in this element more on Coquette this fall. For my first interview, I had the exciting opportunity to talk to jewelry designer Emily Wheat Maynard of Elva Fields. She is the creative genius and business person behind her exquisite Kentucky-based jewelry line. Her pieces are bold, colorful and make the perfect fashion statement!
A great way to update a wardrobe is with jewelry. Currently I am so majorly in love with JewelMint for their gorgeous selection of stylish and affordable pieces – perfect for boho inspiration or elegant sophistication. JewelMint was founded by Kate Boswoth (a gal with style that I adore) and stylish Cher Coulter. I got to try out the service and picked two pieces. They are so versatile that I have been wearing them everyday, even dressed up and out to dinner.
The Trinity Bracelets are three chain bracelets, gold, silver and rose gold, measure 7 1/2" each. They are simple, elegant and perfect for everyday. I like to wear them stacked with my gold bangles which dresses up a simple t-shirt and jeans outfit instantly. I'm way into the mixed metal look lately and the bracelets are just so light and pretty to wear.
My second item is the Sealed with Love Necklace, a 10k gold-plated wax sealing pendant hangs from a 27” rope chain. The necklace looks even more amazing in person because it looks like it's vintage but doesn't look cheap (if you know what I mean). The charm is actually a stamp that says "With Love". I have paired this necklace with t-shirts, long sweaters, as well as a floral dress to go out to dinner. It literally works with everything!
Kate Bosworth notes:
"I’m in love with this necklace! I discovered a vintage necklace while traveling in Europe and learned that men’s watch chains used to feature stamps in order to seal letters and important documents. We wanted to recreate a piece with its own stamp and more personal message. The necklace can seal all of your letters With Love."
