Vogue Feb 1993 presented us with a new face, Amber Valetta, who along with her best friend 4evah, Shalom Harlow were part of the 90's modeling crew. These two BFFs were inseparable throughout the fashion mags at the time. It was as if you couldn't book one gal without the other. They were the waif sisters, the grunge twins, and later, the elegant ladies at the ball. I loved the photoshoot in this issue with the girls in soft, feminine pieces that harked back to the 20's and 30's. Who knew when we first saw them here they would have like a gazillion photoshoots together, a couple major Fall covers of Vogue, and a co-hosting gig on MTV's fashion show "House of Style". Now both ladies seem to have supporting careers in movies, but I'll always remember their fashion days.
Remember those long long dresses of the 90's?
Amber looks really stunning. This photo reminds me of a young Twiggy.
There was always something elegant about Shalom. I love the willowy blouse and flowy pants matched with pearls. The Sperry's wouldn't happen in a photoshoot today.
