For a nice break with reality, I spent some time on Chanel.com browsing the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2008 fashion show (click on Fashion, then Fashion Shows). This dress above is my favorite for it's ability to continue my love for the soft pale hue of grey and for it's magical ability to transport me into the era of balls in Jane Austen-land. Look at the tiny hint of her satin slippers? Love it!

Calling all budding fashion designers! Glam's Design a Dress Contest is an exciting opportunity for a break out design star to be recognized and given the opportunity to design the dress of their dreams. Through sketches posted online, viewers can vote on their favorite designer.
You have only until Thursday, January 31, to submit sketches of a dress you'd like to design. Once all entries are received, Glam's editorial team will select 4 groups of 8 semifinalists that will be featured in a weekly slideshow with voting functionality. Readers will vote each week on their favorite dresses. The top two semifinalists each week move to the final round-for 8 total finalists. These 8 finalists will be given 3 weeks to actually make the dress they sketched. I'm about due to get my eyes checked and I want to get myself a new pair of glasses. Just launched this year is Marc Jacobs' new eyewear line. Since Marc wears glasses himself, he decided he better start making some so he can wear his own! (That's what I heard from the manager at Marc Jacobs a couple weeks ago.) I just ordered online this adorable yellow Lux Pleat Front A-Line Coat at Urban Oufitters for, get this, $29.99! (Orginally $140.) The blue Luxe Bastille Coat I posted about earlier in the week is on sale as well for $34.99 but I just couldn't resist the yellow. Thanks Christina for the tip on this!
I've posted about the great laptop sleeves by Janine King Designs before here and I'm loving the fact that she's got a whole new line of MacBook Air laptop sleeves that are very fashionable! I am eyeing this laptop sleeve above ($49), in one of my favorite Japanese fabric prints Etsuko Bird.
Other favorites of mine is this very fashionable for spring Zebra print or Mod Dots featuring some of my favorite color combinations of pale teal, green, pink, and brown.
For spring, the crop of Spring 2008 runway safari-inspired fashions are making their ways to the stores now like this Michael Kors Safari Shirt Dress or the fun Michael Kors Zebra-Print Satin Coat. Michael Kors Spring 2008 Fashion Show
After lunch downtown today with Susan and Meredith, Nancy and I walked by the Juicy Couture boutique because I wanted to show her these flats that I've been in love with. They were on sale so she made me try them on, which of course made me love them more because they are so comfy. I'm a sucker for nice flats since that's what I wear the most. I had been thinking about the silver ones, but decided basic black looked the best with the gold chain. Well guess what? Not only were they on sale, they were marked down even more when I was at the register to $119.99. They are in a soft black suede too so if you are near a Juicy Couture boutique head over there now! I also found them at Bloomingdale's in limited sizes and also in a red suede, for just $109.99!
