Leanimal's Spring Collection

Leanimal is a new clothing line by Leanne Marshall, a fashion designer based in Portland, OR who studied fashion at FIDM in San Francisco. She started her love of fashion design at a young age of 12 where she started by designing her own ballet costumes. Her Spring line premiered Portland Fashion Week. The theme this Spring is "Haphazard Origami" which figures delicate folds in fabrics and creative angles. Pictured above is the Sweet Dress and the Origami Frock below. Marshall uses hemp, bamboo, organic cottons, and other eco-friendly materials as much as possible in her work. I love how the dresses have a stylish flair and are still very flattering to the body. You can see more of her fashions and past collections on the Leanimal web site and order some of her pieces in her shop.

Jovovich-Hawk Hits Target March 2

The new Jovovich-Hawk line debuts at Target on March 2 and I can't wait! I've been loving their styles now for the last few seasons. The new line at Target stays true to the designers' bohemian-chic roots. At the top of my list is this Linen Vest in Blue ($29.99) and the Arabesque Halter Dress in Multicolor ($29.99). Everything is of course super affordable making it easy for you to snatch up more than just one look. All designs will be available in stores and online at Target.com/go.

Best Dressed at the Oscars

My first reaction upon seeing the scaly scalloped mermaid-style dress by Jean-Paul Gaultier on French actress Marion Cotillard was that I didn't like it. But then if you notice, she's absolutely stunning! The dress fits her perfectly and she stands out from the crowd. She's my vote for overall best dressed at the Oscars. Why? That's cuz the other actressess pretty much look the same o' Hollywood. Rene Zellweger, Hillary Swank, Cameron Diaz -- they just stand there in their staged, overly-used poses. Even little Miley Cyrus was spewing out cliches as she did her over the shoulder pose in her Valentino dress. Sigh... So there I've said it. I was tired of all the cheesiness. I've rated my Best Dressed for the Oscars based on how their personality shown through what they wore. And isn't that what style's all about?

A lot of actressses wore red Oscar night but Katherine Heigel was the best out of all of them. She looked amazing in her red over the shoulder red Escada dress because she came off like a regular gal. I was actually a bit nervous for her when she came on stage because she started her presentation by saying how nervous she was.

Jennifer Garner who looked absolutely glamorous in her Oscar De La Renta gown with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels (The necklace and the bangles are beautiful!). Yet she still had that honest girl next door charm as talked to Ryan Seacrest on E! She also handled the whole Gary Busey bizarre interruption pretty well.

A pregnant Nicole Kidman went simple in her gown but didn't skimp on jewels adorning the diamond necklace in layers of layers in the front and the back. Just stunning!

Also is it just me or does Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis look exactly the same each year? They are ageless!

JCrew has launched a new brand, Madewell 1935, which is targeted towards the younger gal. The casual style is a little bit Abercrombie mixed in with a little bit of Marc by Marc. Oscars are Tonight!

FINALLY! Tonight's the night for the red carpet fashions at the Oscars! I'll be having my own little red carpet party in front of the TV and will be checking out who's best dressed and who's made some major fashion faux-pas. (And finally Angelina comes out with her baby bump...will she do the same at the Oscars?)
