MINT Jodi Arnold Spring 2009: Creative Embroidery and the Color Nude

I'm swooning over the Spring 2009 collection of MINT Jodi Arnold featuring creative embroidery and the color Nude. This shift dress ($561) is embellised with strips of ribbon that have been pleated and hand embroidered. Black chiffon lining decorates the hem of the sleeves and neckline. The ribbon embroidery wraps towards the back of the dress, along the bottom. The intricate hand embroidered work is just breath-taking!

But what I love the most is this this continuing theme of the color Nude. Pictured left is the Side Tie Mini Dress ($561) and on the right is the Casade Dress ($418). Both dresses are modern and stunning. I love the pairing with the sandals, either silver or gray, to go in tune with the muted shade of nude.

Personality Jackets for Spring

I'm still nuts about updating my Spring wardrobe and love the showcase of personality jackets for Spring over at Stylehive. I like to call myself a jacket collector as I have way too many. I just love having a variety of jackets on hand, especially for Spring. My favorite is this Banana Republic 3/4 Sleeves Nylon Jacket in Lycian Turquoise that's on sale for $39.99. Feelin' Jersey

There's nothing like the feeling of cotton jersey against your skin. What makes me excited for Spring is the idea of the onset of wearing those comfy jersey dresses like this J.Crew Dressy Jersey Ruffly Dress ($88). Move over Nicole Kidman. Amelie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet and star Audrey Tatou work together again for the new upcoming Chanel No. 5 TV commercial. Coach's Parker Large Hippie Bag

Katie Holmes is sporting the Parker Large Convertible Hippie Bag by Coach ($358). I love that it looks stylish for any woman (mom or not), and can be slung over your shoulders and you can have your hands free (or carry your baby). Plus it looks super roomy! I'm deciding on whether I want it in white or yellow. Just in time for Spring!

Obsessed over Nude Flats

Don't ask me what came over me. I felt the rush late Monday night while remembering a photo of Angelina Jolie and the Lanvin nude ballet flats she had on, like a year ago. I loved the idea of shoes that looked barely there and thoughts of Spring are upon me. I'm not ready to shell out 500-600 bucks for those coveted Lavin's, so a quick search online would have to do. It's amazing how hard it is to find a shoe with just the right shade of nude and with a simple design. I finally found these Madison Harding Ballet Flats that are now on sale for only $52.90 at Nordstrom (was $89.95, only size 8 left in Nude Patent). So, thankfully now these little beauties are purchased and now I can find something else to be obsessed over.

SAFE by Rebecca Turbow

I'm feeling really inspired by the new Spring 09 collection SAFE by Rebecca Turbow. I'm loving the monochromatic shades of gray and ivory and the dreamy ad campaign photos.

Can You Go "No Poo"?

Ok I'll admit the title threw me off when I first read it. Having a 4th month old baby, I'm always around poo somehow. But this is about no shampoo. This "no poo" revolution is happening now at a crazy pace. I was emailed this SF Gate/The Mommy Files story and this Daily Mail article, Could you survive without shampoo? It's completely fascinating for someone like me who loves my beauty products and hair goods. Apparently, shampoos are filled with chemicals that aren't good for you, especially not good for kids. Pictured above is one of the Daily Mail writers, Lucy Sutton, who did the experiment and claims, "My hair has much more volume and I have discovered it has natural wave - I'll never use shampoo again." After the initial week of greasiness, her hair overcame it and now feels like silk.

I'm probably too chicken to try this out just yet, but I've been googling it and found some related stories that are great. If you've tried this yourself, please leave a comment.
