DIY Fashion: Wardrobe Refresh

This month at CRAFT one of the themes is Wardrobe Refresh. We are all budget conscious these days so it's important to stay fashionable without breaking the bank. One of my favorite projects is by Diana Eng's From Maxi Dress to Mini Dress. Here she takes inspiration from the spring runways and shows easily how to turn last season's maxi dress from H&M to this season's mini dress with this tutorial. I figured since I spend most of my time as a crafts editor in my day job, that I would also showcase more DIY fashion here on Coquette from time to time in roundups like these.

I've been in a beachy mood lately and would love to be wearing Totem's Aneto Tunic Dress ($158 from Le Train Bleu) from along with those cute orange sandals. The pullover style dress with drawstring waist makes it a perfect swimsuit cover-up as well. Can we say Hawaii? A girl can dream.

On May 19th, Forever 21 will launching a new contemporary fashion line called Love 21, available online and in select stores. The Lookbook is coming soon on the site. Can't wait to see what's in store!

Watch Bravo's The Fashion Show Tonight

I'm more curious than excited about checking out the new Project Runway replacement show on Bravo called The Fashion Show. The new TV show premieres tonight at 10pm EST/PST. Fashion designer and TV personality Isaac Mizrahi is the host. What I don't get is ex-Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland as one of the judges. Was there really no one in the fashion biz who wanted this gig? I would have LOVED it if an ex-model like Linda Evangelista or Naomi Campbell would have been a part of the show.

And for all you PR fans, the next season of Project Runway is set to premiere on August 20th on Lifetime.

Will & Grace Best Of DVDs

The new Will & Grace Best Of DVDs are out today! Get the Will & Grace Best of Love & Marriage and the Will & Grace Best of Friends & Foes (Both are $13.99 each on Amazon). Each DVD has 16 favorite episodes which you can watch at your leisure. I end up doing a mini-marathon this past rainy weekend.

I will just like to say they don't make sitcoms like they used to. Seinfeld, Friends, and in this case Will & Grace. There are lines from this show I still use with my friends today. Where else can you see Matt Damon being tested by Jack on his gayness or Cher being mistaken for a drag queen? Comedy writing and performance at it's best. And as a gal who has lots of gay boyfriends, this show was always like home for me.

Chanel No. 5 Short Film with Audrey Tautou

Watch the new short film for Chanel No. 5 with Audrey Tautou which will debut as TV ads soon. The mood is definitely romantic with trains, longing looks, and an exotic locale such as Istanbul. Amelie director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet brings a softer, romantic side to Chanel No. 5, a stark contrast to the glitz and glamourous ads starring Nicole Kidman as well as the ones from the 80's with Carole Bouquet. Chanel No. 5 becomes a soft, artistic, and sophisticated lady thanks to Audrey Tautou. As a side note, I love the delicate star necklace she's wearing in the last scene!
