Hundreds of New Yorkers, both women and men, braved the rain to get their "choo fix" on Saturday for the launch of Jimmy Choo for H&M. The first person in line at the 5th Ave store arrived at 3:00 am. The H&M staff did an amazing job with managing the crowd (and expectations) while passing out t-shirts, umbrellas and krispy kremes to keep everyone happy.

They actually handed out an instruction sheet on how to shop which was a first for me at a launch.

Once inside people literally lost their minds! Grabbing for clothes, pushing people to get to what they wanted. It was madness! I kept wondering who are these people and why do they not have any manners? We're at H&M!

Hands down the best part was the shoes. I got the black strappy ones pictured above. I really liked some of the jewelry too. The handbags were ok (nice leather/well made), but not quite my style. I expected more from the clothes: the fit was off, fabric wasn't so great and the workmanship was so-so. Then again, H&M is more about mass-produced trendy disposable clothing.

Based on what I saw during my time at H&M, I would guess a million in the first two hours at the 5th Ave store alone. Overall, it was nice to see New Yorkers out having fun and spending money.

From this shopping experience, I'm curious as to what people think about a high brand doing a low line? Does you think it dilutes the brand?
