Rebecca Minkoff Heavy Metal True Love Hobo

I was in desperate need of a new hobo bag after I spilled coffee inside my Kenneth Cole hobo a few weeks ago. (Long story, don't ask!) As an editor, I'm always needing to tote around my technology (my camera, video camera, and HP Vivienne Tam laptop) but I still want to look fashionable. I've spent a good amount of time recently at night checking out a lot of web sites and I kept coming back to the Rebecca Minkoff True Love Hobo in stone ($495 at Shopbop). The bag also comes in black but there was something about the wonderful neutral color of Stone that appealed to me even more. I knew that this bag would be perfect for summer events and yet would work beautifully in the fall with my gray and black wardrobe as a nice "pop". Hurry though, it seems like this stone color is the new "it" color because the True Love Hobo in Stone is sold out on a lot of web sites. Shopbop is the only place I can find it now.

This bag will definitely steer clear of coffee, I promise!

For those of you who want a smaller bag, Rebecca Minkoff has the Heavy Metal Flame ($495 at Rebecca Minkoff). This bag has been seen on the likes of Whitney Port of The City.

The Beauty of Long Pendants

Jen at Indie Fixx went on vacation and a couple weeks ago I did a guest post on her blog. There's a huge sale happening now at Karen Millen. I've been a huge fan of their stylish dresses that have an amazing fit. (Just remember the sizes are listed in UK numbers which are higher than US.) A couple weeks ago in a major shoe rut, I picked up these stylish RACHEL Rachel Roy Mirabel lace front wedges ($99 at RachelRoy.com). I was desperately looking for a wedge and liked this delicately studded version with open toe. Menswear-inspired oxfords get decidedly more feminine with cut-outs in my book.

NARS Cosmetics: Fresh-Faced Beauty for Summer

I recently had the pleasure of previewing the NARS summer collection at a special bloggers breakfast in SF and wanted to give a shout out to a few of my favorites and new-to-me discoveries. I've been a long time fan of NARS (multiple stick and lip gloss) so I was excited to have the chance to see the new products and beautiful colors.

At the top of my list is NARS Pro-Prime. I got to try out two of these: Skin Smoothing Face Prep ($30) and the Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base ($24). Both of these smooth out your skin and creates a protective base so your makeup lasts longer! What was amazing is that I could see the difference of how much smoother and clearer my face looked with the Pro-Prime than without. It feels so light and airy, you don't even know it's on your skin. This is definitely going to be a part of my putting on makeup routine!

Maggie Gyllenhaal at Met Opera Gala wears the PRO-PRIME Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Base and Demi Moore (at the Met Gala) wears both the eyeshadow base and the PRO-PRIME Face Prep and both remarked at how they loved how long their makeup lasted for the night!

I've always loved the NARS multiple sticks and this summer you can choose from three bright new colors. The NARS Multiple Tints come in Beverly Hills, Turks & Caicos, and my favorite Cadeques. Pop these in your handbag or beach tote for summer kissed cheeks and stained lips. LOVE!

Glam Adapt Party

Last Thursday I had so much fun celebrating Glam's new venture called Glam Adapt, an ad-serving platform built for brands. It's already getting great buzz and you can read the review here at TechCrunch. The celebration party was in a private area of the swanky Clift Hotel in San Francisco. Let me tell you that fashion parties are few and far between in San Francisco and whenever I can support my friends at Glam, I'm ready to put my dancing shoes on. Here I am with my fellow fashion blogging friends, Tami of Fete a Fete and Stephanie of Adventures in the Stiletto Jungle. We sipped champagne/wine and noshed on delicious appetizers while dancing to beats by the DJ.

Stephanie had the most to die for Rock & Republic studded stilettos (left). I also loved Christina's lace up stilettos.(She works for Glam.) Super hot heels, right? Not sure what brand they are but wow, did they look good. We took a moment out on the balcony for this quick iPhone shot.
