Crochet fashions are all on the racks now and here are a few items above that are inspiring me to pick up a crochet hook, rather than spend money. At the top of my list is the crochet Chanel bag with delicate crochet flowers that decorate the soft bag. I actually went into the Chanel store recently to touch it and loved the soft silky yarn that was used to make the bag. The price tag is scary though at $4525 (ah!), you're actually way better off crocheting your own version with your favorite flowers and colors. I'd say you'd probably only spend around $80 or so using really good silky yarn.
My next two favorites are the Tory Burch Crochet Logo Flats (On sale at Bloomingdales for $188) and the Tory Burch Zircon Dress ($495 at Tory Burch). Once again, the dress would be super easy to crochet and I'd love to wear it in a cool bamboo yarn.
The best book for learning crochet (and you can really learn from this book) is by my friends Kim Werker and Cecily Keim called, Teach Yourself Visually Crocheting (Teach Yourself Visually). I refer to this book all the time! For crochet flower patterns, pick up Nicky Epstein Crocheted Flowers. You can also visit Lion Brand Yarn for great yarn and hundreds of free patterns.
