When I bought a Book Marc tin ($8) at the Marc Jacobs boutique a few months ago, I had no idea that the designer bought his favorite bookstore in NY's West Village. (Find out this winter what he turns it into!) Nylon magazine gives us the scoop about Book Marc, Marc Jacobs' new line of very affordable designer pencils, bags, tins and more. I say it's a perfect "Back to School" treat for yourself! I use my red tin right now to hold some of my embroidery supplies and it looks great on my white desk.

Fab Fall Coats for Under $250

This fall to look fashionable and stay warm, you don't really have to spend a lot of money! I've rounded up the most gorge fall coats that cost less that $250. For starters, I am in love with this Express ruffled-bottom belted wool trench coat in navy that's only $168. It's perfect chic to wear for work and yet stylishly casual for the weekend with jeans. If you like cropped coats, you can pick up a shorter version of the trench, the Express ruffled bottom wool coat in light gray that's just $98.

Remember that episode last season of Mad Men when they talk about the brand London Fog? Fast forward to 2010 and London Fog maker of the famous trench coats gets an updated and sexy look with actress Christina Hendricks as their spokesperson. Trench coats never looked so good!

Christina Hendricks stated, “London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties in to Mad Men, we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together. The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone – it worked in the 1960s and it works now.”

One thing I noticed in my time in France, both in Paris and the southwest area is that French women love scarves. They wear it in such a way that the ends don't drape down in the front like we do in the States. If it's a large gauzy scarf, they wear it much like how Jessica Alba does above. If it's a chiffon or long silk scarf they tie the knot in the back and let the ends drape down the back. Whether short or long, the ends are never in the way in the front (tucked in or flowing behind) and the knot is usually always at the back of the neck. Silk and chiffon scarves aren't "in" now here but I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing more of them in the next few years as I've always found the women in France to be ahead of the fashion game.

One of the things I missed these last couple of weeks while I was in France was the season premiere of the Rachel Zoe Project. It has to be one of my favorite fashion reality shows. I still haven't had time to catch up on the missed episodes, but I am loving the recent photo spread of Rachel Zoe in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar.
