Chanel Soho Boutique Opens Sept 10th + Limited Edition Makeup Collection

Chanel's Soho boutique has been under a complete revamp and it finally reopens on the day of Fashion's Night Out, September 10th! Opening photos and videos will be on the site after the opening. For now, you can check out the beautiful photos by Karl Lagefeld. In addition to the regular Chanel inventory, the Soho boutique will also be selling exclusives in ready to wear clothing, bags, shoes, and cosmetics.

Fashion designer and friend Diana Eng snapped this photo today of the prep work happening as she was walking by.

Shoppers in NY can head to the boutique on FNO and get the exclusive Soho Story Makeup Collection which is also available online starting today at Chanel.com. (Hurrah for online shopping for those of us that can't be in NY!)

I'm coveting the limited edition nail polishes in Strong and Steel ($23 each).

I also love this Soho De Chanel highlighting powders and blush compact ($65) that's stamped SOHO.

Fashion’s Night Out: The Show

Hello Lovelies! It's Leigh here again covering New York Fashion Week 2010 for Coquette! NYFW kicked off tonight in a big way at Fashion’s Night Out The Show at Lincoln Center the new home for fashion. A doubledecker bus dropped off models on Columbus Avenue to begin the show. Gisele led the group of models all clad in Fashion’s Night Out t-shirts and couture full-length skirts. Gorgeous!

About 171 models strutted down the outdoor runway in the plaza of Lincoln Center in 470 high-end as well as low-end looks that ranged from Oscar de la Renta to Gap to Balenciaga to White House Black Market. The clothes were all grouped into  Vogue's seven most important fall trends. My fave looks were the 60's era Prada dresses, suits and circle skirts which were very Mad Men-esque!

Elle UK's 25th Anniversary Issue with Kate Hudson

Need I tell you how much I love Elle UK, more than any other fashion magazine? It's true. It's been a love affair for almost 20 years, even since I was a co-ed on the U.C. Berkeley campus. After class, I would head over to Cody's Bookstore on Telegraph Avenue and browse through all the fashion magazines. Don't get me wrong, I do love my American fashion mags (and I subscribe to them), but the UK edition has always had much better fashion features and editorial in my book.

I'm a huge fan of handmade jewelry for its exceptional beauty and attention to detail. Right now, I am loving the beautiful and colorful jewelry pieces by Nicola Yoon Design. I started to wear more gold this year and this Moonstone, Tangerine Citrine & Pacific Opal Swarovski Crystal Triple Strand Necklace ($284) is just simply stunning. Lanvin for H&M: Coming November 20th!

Get ready this winter as Lanvin for H&M will debut on November 20th in the U.S. and on November 23rd for the rest of the world! Artistic Director of Lanvin, Alber Elbaz talks more about it in this exclusive video. He says what intrigued him about doing this collaboration was that "H&M [is] going luxury, rather than Lanvin [is] going public". Honestly, I can't see anyone shelling out $1,000+ for a handbag at H&M, if that was your budget you'd be at Neiman's already. I would imagine that the prices will be way more affordable for the rest of us.

Since joining Lanvin as artistic director in 2001, Elbaz has transformed the Paris-based label, founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, into a fashion powerhouse bursting with ideas and creativity. Alber Elbaz has pioneered at Lanvin some of the biggest trends of the past decade - ribbon, bows, pearls, raw edges, sumptuous color and metallic embellishment among many others.

Here are some of my favorite Lanvin pieces that I'm hoping gets translated into this H&M collection.

Behind the Scenes of Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2010 Ad Campaign

One of my favorite ad campaigns this fall is the new Louis Vuitton ads featuring my favorite supermodel ever, Christy Turlington. Christy is joined by Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova. Where previous ad campaigns used celebrities like Uma Thurman and Madonna, I love, love, love the return of models and 50's glamour – so fitting as the top handle bags take center stage this fall. It kinda makes you want to play dress up in billowy vintage dresses, no?

If any place could be called crafting heaven, the craft shop La Droguerie is just that and more. Nestled in a small little area of the Les Halles area of Paris, I could feel the excitement inside me as I stepped inside and was immediately greeted "hello" by the hanks of candy colored yarn that spanned all along the wall. The store feels like an old apothecary with large wooden cabinets lining the back area which contained tiny drawers filled with buttons. Colorful beads lived in large jars that were lined up and down a large bookcase and seemed almost to call out for someone to "take a scoop home". Pretty and ornate fake flowers in little glasses decorated the window area. A wall of ribbons and bias tape spanned the back wall. (I now regret not buying some of the cute Liberty of London bias tape. Ah!) Under a glass table, patterned fabric lay neatly organized and color coordinated.
