Best Dressed at the Oscars 2011

1. Michelle Williams in Chanel Couture and Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

It's not often I have a tie in my best dressed list but I thought both Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis went against the typical red carpet gowns and really stood out for it. Soft. Elegant. Beautiful. Michelle's Chanel Couture dress accentuated her pixie-cut hair and lovely figure. Mila Kunis' soft lilac Elie Saab gown looked amazing on camera and the low cut/lace neckline was a stunner!

2. Natalie Portman in Rodarte

Any pregnant woman knows how hard it is to dress, much less have to dress consistently for the last few weeks to numerous red carpet events. The V-shaped neckline of the Rodarte keep the focus up to the face where you couldn't help but notice the beautiful purple Tiffany tassel earrings that I couldn't take my eyes off of. (Check out this CRAFT tutorial to DIY a pair of tassel earrings if you want to make something like these.)

3. Gywneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein

Gywneth Paltrow has come a long way from the bubble gum pink Ralph Lauren dress she won her Best Actress Oscar in 1999. This metallic sheeth gown by Calvin Klein just looked so sleek on her. I liked that she played different with her jewelry opting for colorful Louis Vuitton earrings and a brooch to set her look apart.

4. Cate Blanchett in Givenchy

Call me crazy but on camera this dress by Givenchy on Cate Blanchett was a stunner! She stood out from the rest of the celebrities and she carried the dress so well. A class act!

5. Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang

Red was a favorite on the red carpet but I thought Sandra Bullock wore this stunning Vera Wang gown the best. It was classic Hollywood and I loved that she opted to keep it simple with the jewelry.

Tibi has launched their new SS11 campaign featuring socialite/model/reality tv star Olivia Palmero. I love the "street style" setting inspired by fashion blogs such as the Satorialist. Olivia Palermo chose the Tibi clothing that she’d like be photographed in during the NYC, London, Paris & Milan shows, styling all the outfits in her own personal way. Stylehive has a slideshow showing the trend in industrial chic accessories – mixed metals, bolt shaped pieces, studded details and anything that reminds you of something you might find at a construction site. I love the Lia Sophia Tri-Ring ($48) and the Vita Fede Albi Cuff ($115).

The Best Concealer - Clé de Peau

Once in a while miracles happen and I'm actually able to sleep through the whole night leaving me with no dark circles under my eyes. Those with babies and toddlers will "ooh" at the rare treat. For the last 2 years I've tried various concealers and they've left my eyes or face area in a cake-y mess or a terrible break out the next day. I asked @Bergdorfs on Twitter for help. She told me that all the Berdorf beauty gals swear by Clé de Peau's Concealer ($70 at Bergdorf Goodman). The price was steep but I desperately needed help. I did extensive research online reading beauty forums and everyone seemed to concur about Clé de Peau's concealer magic which happened to be named the "Best Undereye Concealer" by In Style Magazine last May.

I headed to Neiman Marcus to test it out. The SA gently applied the Ivory shade under my eyes and instantly I saw a huge difference. I didn't look tired! I don't think she liked it when I told her I wasn't going to buy it right away. I really needed to test it out and see if it lasted all day or if it would make me break out. At 10:30pm that night, it was still on and it looked great! No caking ever happened and no breakouts either. The next weekend I headed down to purchase the concealer.

Right now, this is probably my most expensive item in my makeup bag. I would never spend this much money on makeup. Skincare, yes but not makeup. But Clé de Peau is really worth every penny. I love that the texture is very light and airy. You can gently dab it on around your eye area (or anywhere else on your face) with your fingers. I usually finish it off with some pressed or loose powder. Since it's in a stick format, it will probably last longer than the liquid concealers (which I hear have lots of leaking issues if you get those click pen versions).

If you have dark circles or spots you want to hide on your face, take a trip down to the Clé de Peau beauty counter and try it out for yourself. Believe me, you'll be hooked!
