Get that Pop of Color with Blue

Perhaps it was Kate Middleton in her stunning blue dress during the royal engagement press conference that has hooked me onto anything blue. I remember a TV host years ago who told me a tip a stylist taught her – build your wardrobe with lots of blue rather than black because it is a color that is flattering to everyone and is both classic but looks much fresher. Now with spring and summer's bright mix of colors that pop, I love the idea of adding more blue into the mix especially with accessories like bags, jewelry, and shoes. Blue may definitely just be the new black. Stylehive rounds up some great pics in their "got the blues" slideshow.

Trois Petit Points Coral Locket Necklace

I've been searching for a simple long necklace lately and now my search is over. I am in love with the Trois Petit Points large coral locket necklace ($82 from Le Train Bleu). The necklace also comes in soft rose. Apparently these necklaces have an international cult following!

Trois Petit Points is from Parisien designer Emilie Despeaux who creates her jewels in her workshop in Paris. Emilie started the brand in 2007 as a nod to the embroidery she studied at ESAA Duperre, a fashion design school in Paris.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Rose Gold & Silver Watch

I can't resist the beauty of rose gold. When it comes to summer I love being able to mix metals, especially silver. This is why I am in love with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Jazzy Classic Henry Chronograph ($225 at Zappos). I actually noticed this watch this morning while grabbing coffee before a meeting on the wrist of a fashionable British advertising gal who also had an Alexander Mc Queen cuff on the other.

Just noting this would make an excellent Mother's Day gift! (Yes, this is a hint to my husband.)

Gilt City SF: Conifer Boutique Event on 4/30

Conifer is new boutique in San Francisco that I am dying to check out! The owner, Amy Mautz is the former sales director for Built By Wendy. She opened Conifer to showcase emerging designers within her minimalist shop. Also noteworthy: products are eco-friendly!

On April 30th, Conifer will open its doors to Gilt City members with a special in-store event. One ticket ($50) will include bubbly beverages and a $100 credit towards clothing, bags, shoes and jewelry. Don't miss it!

Nautical Looks for $50 or Less

It seems like the nautical trend never goes out of season. Nothing says spring more than crisp navy and white strips. Stylehive picks some great nautical looks for under $50 or less with some great modern takes on this classic look. New Favorite Brand: Radenroro

I just started watching Joe Zee's new show All On the Line on the Sundance Channel a few weeks ago. (A new episode is on tonight at 10pm!) In the premiere episode, Zee helps the husband and wife team of Radenroro. "Raden Roro" is the title given to royal girls in Indonesia, the birthplace of the designer of the brand, Liquica Anggraini. My favorite top is the Radenroro Ismi Silk Blouse ($295 at Nordstrom) that is actually an abstract teddy bear print created by Anggraini. I also love this feminine Radenroro Adila Polka Dot Dress ($405) perfect for brunch out with friends or a summer wedding. The Radenroro look is feminine and modern, and I love supporting new designers.
