My skin gets really dry in the winter so I have always made a conscious decision to add masks to my routine. I thought it would be great to show some of my favorites that I use in my routine. I love the ease of those face sheet masks for their single serving but I actually find cream masks easier to use because they are less goopy to put on. I've recently just tried the Clarins HydraQuench Cream Mask ($36 at clarinsusa.com). This has been an even better replacement for the La Roche Posay cream mask I used to use from France (but can't find here in the U.S.). It's a soft cream that very light and you can easily apply all over your face. After about 5-10 minutes, just wipe it off with a cotton ball or tissue. You can spot treat certain areas, like under the eyes to reduce puffiness. Trust me, your skin will feel amazingly soft for days! I use this once a week now.
I'm always trying out new products and I am currently trying a new Organic Ultra Chlorophyll Mask from Cocokind. I hope to get a review on that up next week.

Face masks aren't just to hydrate your skin, Sephora has a whole variety of masks to help brighten, energize, nourish, refresh, and plump up skin. There's a mask for everything you may need at Sephora and the good news is that these single-package masks are only $6 each. If you're a newbie, pick up the Explorer Set which is a great deal giving you three masks to try for only $10. (review)
Hada Labo Tokyo Ultimate Anti-Aging Facia Mask ($13 for pack of 4 on Amazon.com)
I no longer use SK-II masks – they are too overpriced to use and throw away. Instead, I have replaced them with these amazing and way more affordable ones by Hada Labo Tokyo. They are infused with lots of hyaluronic acid serum giving you a cooling anti-aging treatment. Stick one in the fridge for those hot summer nights. (review)
I also love the Face Mask Sheets at The Face Shop, a Korean beauty shop that is located in Japantown in San Francisco. (There are many locations throughout the Bay Area and around the U.S.). All of these masks are natural and like the Sephora ones, help target certain conditions. Choose from avocado, honey, chia seed, ace berry, aloe, cucumber, green tea and more. REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask($55)
This anti-aging facial mask helps improve skintone, texture, firmness, radiance, shrinks pores and also helps reduce sun damage, hyperpigmentation and old acne scars. I use this one every two weeks and it's usually part of my Sunday night facial routine when I go all out. (review)
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask ($24.48 on Amazon)
I started using this Korean beauty gem about a month ago. It is a gel-like cream that you wear to sleep! It works really well and the directions say to put your serums on underneath so the the mask will help penetrate the serum under your skin. I don't know if that's really the case but it does leave your skin soft. This is a wonderful hydrating mask. If I had to choose between this one and the Clarins cream above, I would go for the Clarins because the cream works really fast and you can use your regular skincare products before bed.
