I'm always on the hunt for a really good nude lipstick. With my skintone being more on the yellow side, I need a little more color to my nudes, like mauve and berry shades, so that I don't look completely washed out. Thanks to a sample sized lipstick I received from Sephora, I became desperately addicted to it once it completely ran out. A girl can never have too many lipsticks, I say.
The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick ($37 at Sephora) in #9 Rose Stiletto is rich berry rose shade and just perfect in my book. I find it's a great everyday neutral nude and is work-friendly. It's not too flashy, just enhances your natural beauty look. In fact, when I went to purchase it at Bloomingdales, my YSL SA Quaid told me that it's the most popular shade of lipstick from YSL and they usually sell out of them. Even though I do have a lot of nude/berry type lipsticks, I purchased this because not only do I love the color, I love the YSL Rouge Pur Couture formula. It's creamy and lasts a long time, unlike the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine which you have to constantly reapply. So this is my first lipstick I've purchased in the Rouge Pur Coture family and yes, now I am hooked!
I love topping off the lipstick with the new Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 07 Toffee Pink Shimmer ($25 at Nordstrom).
