I was a little underwhelmed by the holiday makeup "Collection Libre" by Chanel. The Architectonic eyeshadow palette inspired by architecture featured glittery light and concrete grays and dark blue. I watched a few You Tubers test it out and for $80 it wasn't worth it for me. (I ended up getting the Dior holiday palette which I will share soon.)
But what did intrigue me was the Calligraphy De Chanel Longer Intense Cream Eyeliner ($35 at Chanel.com). I tried this on the morning I received the box and I am surprised at how long wearing it is. It lasted me from 10am to 8pm when I cleaned off all of my makeup. What I love the most about this eyeliner is the accompanying tiny brush. It caps like a pen so it's easily stored in your makeup bag. The brush is really sharp so you can really get a good line that's close to your eyelashes. I also found it easier to make that cat eye wing shape at the ends because of this brush. Previously with other eyeliner pots, I have been using my Chanel Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush #13. That works ok to get close to your lashes, but this small brush lets you do your eyeliner quickly as well as precisely.
I have been carrying around really small bags lately and loved using my Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo ($37 each) in Message. It's a bit more color (red) than what I want to wear for everyday so I picked up two more neutral everyday colors. I love that this basically is the size of a pen and fits perfectly inside my mini bags. I bought 218 Script, a nice nude and 216 Lettre, a soft rose. What I love about this formula is that it feels super light on the lips and has a really pretty shine so that I don't need to add (and carry) a lip gloss.
Here is a swatch of the colors. At top is 216 Lettre and bottom is 218 Script.
