Project Glimmer is an organization near and dear to my heart. The organization helps at-risk teenage girls and women with gifts of gently used jewelry, bags and new beauty products. As we move into the holiday season with food drives and Toys for Tots, it's nice to know that there are also ways we can give back to teen girls.
There are many ways you can help out Project Glimmer. If you are in the Bay Area, give your time this Saturday December 8th by helping with with their Box Joy event. The event is at their East Bay warehouse and you can wrap, count and prepare gifts for the holiday season. If you want to help but can't attend, you can also donate.
You can also support Project Glimmer through their Shop for a Cause page. All the items on the page benefit Project Glimmer such as the Ashley Morgan Gold Star Necklace pictured above.
I was honored to be invited last month to the annual Project Glimmer Luncheon in San Francisco. You may have caught the action on my InstaStories or Twitter that day on November 7th.
Here are some highlight pics:
The venue was at the gorgeous Bently Reserve in the financial district of San Francisco.
There was a raffle and gift area where you could buy gifts with proceeds going to Project Glimmer. I took part in the Kendra Scott surprise box where people could win earrings, bracelets or necklaces.
Mayor London Breed gave the keynote speech. As a young girl who grew up in the projects of SF, she knows first hand how organizations like Project Glimmer can mean so much to young girls.
Delicious desserts from Kara's Cupcakes.
Jenni Bingham who is Deputy Director of Project Glimmer and I had a great time catching up at the event.
