I've been on a super hero bent lately during quarantine. My family and I recently enjoyed the entire Marvel movie collection via Disney +. Next up, our plan is a DC Comics movie marathon via HBO Max. Wonder Woman has always been my favorite superhero from when I was a little girl. (Remember Lynda Carter in the 80's tv show? She was my favorite.) My dad was a huge comic book lover so you could find us every Sunday in Berkeley, CA at the comic book store where I would be reading the latest adventure of Wonder Woman and the Justice League.
Which brings me to the Wonder Woman x Erin Condren Collection that launched earlier this spring. (Note: In compliance with Warner Brothers shipping terms and conditions, Wonder Woman x Erin Condren products are only available in the US, US territories & Canada.) What I love about the collection is that the designers brought the best of both worlds together. Wonder Woman is a recognizable brand and EC brought in the bold colors, fonts and her iconic stars with a modern style to it. The new Wonder Woman 1984 movie is delayed due to the pandemic but I just love how this collection brings both the retro vitnage Wonder Woman and the modern style at the same time. We are all "wonder women" and what a movement it is!
The EC PR team was nice enough to give me a gift certificate to shop the collection so here's what I picked!
Wonder Woman x EC Kids Handwriting Notebook ($18)
This is mentioned on the EC site as being for kids, but it is actually the perfect notebook for me to practice my lettering! Lettering is at the top of my list to practice this year. I have bene having problems using good paper for it and wanting to keep it together in a notebook.
The notebook is a really good size too at 8 1/2" X 11" with 160 perforated pages and page in the back with label stickers. This is where EC's amazing Mohawk 80 lb paper comes to life! I will br using my EC pens which don't bleed through pages of EC paper. I can't wait to show you guys more of how I use this and the sketchbook below. This cover featuring the vintage comic illustration style of Wonder Woman is my absolute favorite! It brings me back to my childhood.
Wonder Woman x EC Sketch Book ($16)
To continue on my creative path, I have been on a hunt for years (literally years!) for a sketchbook where the hard cover and paper doesn´t get messed up when I turn it on the weird double wire spiral coil. EC's spiral coils and laminated covers has always been my favorite! Now to have a sketchbook with crisp white Mohawk 80 lb paper, I'm literally in heaven! Stars are my jam and I chose to have the Wonder Woman logo in red instead of the default gold color.
I sometimes like to draw in landscape mode with the coil on top of the paper too and the coil does not get in my way at all. I don't know when EC added this to her line up of notebook styles but just know it's an option to just have plain white paper. The other options are lined. dot grid and productivity which all come with a page of sticker labels at the back of the notebook. I need to snag another one of these! I think these notebooks with a set of pens make a great gift!
Wonder Woman x EC Metallic Softbound Notebook ($14)
This is such a classic lined notebook made with vegan leather for the cover with gold foil stars and Wonder Woman logo. I love the shiny gold edges on the paper too. It feels like pure luxury. It's a great size for on the go at 5" X 8.25" and features 80 lb weight paper. Great for journaling or whatever you want. I am obsessed with the star design here!
Wonder Woman x EC Productivity Petite Journal ($9) and Wonder Woman x EC Lined Petite Journal ($9)
I have been a huge fan of the petite journals for years and I always need them around! (I am an on the go folio lover!)
The productivity journal is great to write and keep lists (pictured above left). The color header and separator lines change color throughout the journal making very fun and colorful. The peach/blush cover and bold type and line design is striking! The lined petite journal (pictured above right) with its navy color and gold foil type has a subtle comic book illustration of Wonder Woman in the background. I love this design treatment
Wonder Woman Sticker Pack Trio ($7.50)
Did someone say stickers? I am a sucker for these vintage style Wonder Woman stickers! When I received the box, my 11 year old couldn't believe how gorgeous they are. "Too pretty to use!" she said. We have been doing the pen pal thing during quarantine with one of my good friends on the east coast who has two young girls so these stickers will be added to future letters we send. There are three sheets in this pack: the first is a sheet of vintage Wonder Woman, next a page of quotes/speech bubbles/pow and finally, the last sheet is all colorful and blank versions of speech bubbles/pow splats. There are plenty of stars and lightening bolts.
Take a look the entire Wonder Woman x Erin Condren Collection as there are lots more things you can choose from such as other designs for interchangeable covers, planny pack, Life Planners and more. Make Back to School or quarantine life a little more fun!
