I'm so excited to share a new line of modern and elegant planners called The Good Planners from Harlow & Grey. Harlow & Grey was founded by my friend Jeanne Chan and her cousin Gloria Wong Tritasavit. (Small world here is that I worked in a design agency with Gloria's older brother for many years.) Their company makes gorgeous, modern and elevated party goods. They recently expanded their line recently to include planners. Jeanne knows I'm a planner gal and was really nice to send me a copy to review.
There are three planners in their collection and all of them are A5 hardcover sized (5.7 X 8.5 inches), 120gsm high-quality paper. The planners for the most part have the same design style, share some layouts but have differing ones depending on your planning needs. The planner comes with a pamphlet to show you how to optimize the use for the planner and there are also 2 sticker sheets. You can store them at the back of the planner in this beautiful paper pocket. There's also an elastic band so you can keep your planner pages together when you carry it in your bag.
I chose to review A Good Daily Planner ($29) which features a light gray linen cover with rose gold foil text and is undated good for 6 months.
A Good Weekly Planner ($25) has a black fabric cover with black foil text and features an hourly weekly layout and has no daily pages. Good for 12 months.
A Good Life Planner ($33) features a nude fabric cover with gold foil text. There are more detailed daily pages with 1 day on 2 pages where you have your schedule broken down by hours as well as a full page of reflections. This book is good for 3 months.
My first impression is how well-designed and made this planner is. I have never seen a planner that mixes so elegantly day-to-day planning, goal keeping as well as wellness/mental-heath. The paper quality is top notch at white 120gsm and the blush and neutral tones within each section of the book as well as the cover interiors make the book beautiful to look at. There are 3 ribbons light grey, blush and muted rose to keep your place in your planner. This is all undated so you can start these planners whenever you want. I'm particularly impressed with how the planner helps you set your goals in the beginning of the planner in the first few pages. There are prompts to help you really think about your goals for the year or next however many months.
In the monthly section, you are able to see your month in a view, along with notes and habit trackers. There are 2 spreads for each month. The second spread helps you to refer back to your goals and see how you will need to re-access or improve them for the next month. The categories are: Health + Fitness, Personal Development, Relationships, Finance+Career, Leisure, Other and a nice dot grid notes section. This reminds me of the Maske Life Goal Planners but I feel like it's much more concise in this planner and honestly less overwhelming. This seems much more doable to do this each month, than each week.
There is one week to a page which great because it gives you a place to write your high level tasks and appointments split by personal and work. Why don't more planners do this?! It's a great way to be able to mentally pre-plan the week. The Reflections section helps you bring gratitude to your planning and you are able to celebrate your wins and think about ways to improve. The "grid" for the weekly page works well for those who may be overwhelmed with planning. This layout really helps you along and if there is a box you don't particularly need for that week, you can always white it out or put a sticker over the headers. I just really love the clean design and you can modifly this to whatever you need!
The daily pages are a treat. It's one day to a page featuring a vertical daily schedule fro 6am to 9pm (again you can add stickers if you have a different time schedule you need). I love time blocking as it's the only way I can get things done. Next to the schedule is Today's affirmation -- I love this! Bringing positivity to the day is so important. Then there are the top 3 personal and work tasks, finshed off with gratitude and reflection for the day.
Overall these are beautiful and functional planners that will help you easily bring goal setting and wellness into your daily life.
