Fall Denim Trends: Coated Denim

I'm a jeans girl and have been leaving between my cropped jeans and boyfriend jeans this summer. I am currently obsessed with coated denim and want to get a pair for fall. Coated denim is treated with wax to give it a shiny look, almost like leather. The look is sleek and stylish, yet uber casual when you want to be. I love the DL1961 Emma Coated Legging Jeans ($168 at Shopbop) because I have the Emma skinny jeans and they are so damn comfy. I also like the addition of the moto trend with this pair of Current/Elliott The Soho Zip Stiletto Jeans ($248 at Shopbop).

Tibi Pre-Fall 2013: New York State of Mind

The Tibi Pre-Fall 2013 collection is inspired by New York City, one of my favorite cities in the world (next to Paris, of course). I am currently coveting this Tibi Empire Pencil Skirt ($255 at Tibi). The photo of the Empire State Building and the NY skyline is so bold and breathtaking. I love how it can pop with a black top with the neon-like colors popping from the skyscrapers.

#CoachPreview: Coach Fall Preview 2013

It's still Winter in NY, so heading to the Fall 2013 Preview at Coach headquarters made we covet even more all of the stylish warm hats, scarves and gloves to help brave the cold. I loved everything in the Fall collection, even the Mens items. The Fall handbags are a diverse mix of new styles and the classic Coach design. I really liked the purple envelope clutch pictured center above, a nice modern update to the classic Coach bags. The 2013 handbags are dressier and would make the perfect bag for a night on the town. Available in both leather and suede and in every fabulous Fall color.

Also featured were items from the Coach + Billy Reid Collection, a collaboration with designer Billy Reid featuring rich leather satchels and soft suede bags. I must have the blue suede bag and the portable bar set would make a great gift.

Denim Jackets: A Fresh Look for Spring

This week the weather's been warmish here in San Francisco and the one thing I noticed I've been wearing more often is my denim jackets. I have a few and in my book, you can never have too many. They are perfect for that easy breezy casual feel and can keep you warm from the light cold. This spring, you can stick with the classic blue denim or go for something different like color, special sleeves or a different cut. My favorite is the classic style with the two front pockets (extra bonus if there's an interior pocket inside too like my Levi's one.) The two pictured above are classic and very affordable. Spring's Floral Jeans: Go Bold or Soft

Right now, I can't stop thinking about floral jeans. I've been spotting them slowly around town and love the burst of color it can bring to an outfit like a blossoming spring garden. I am currently coveting these Gap 1969 Printed Legging Skimmer Jeans in Large Floral ($69.95) but I also appreciate and love the neutral color and subtle floral pattern to the Gap 1969 Printed Always Skinny Skimmer Jeans in Light Beige Floral ($69.95) pictured right. For bolder prints, go clean and simple with your tops. You'll never go wrong with a crisp white tee paired with ballet flats or sandals. I love this fresh spring look, that's the perfect everyday uniform you'll find yourself rotating through each week. The Gap ones are my current favorite as they are perfectly priced for a seasonal trendy piece for your closet but there are equally covetable jeans like the Alice and Olivia one below, if you're up for the splurge.

NYFW: Vivienne Tam Fall 2013

It seemed only fitting that Vivienne Tam show her Fall collection on the day of Chinese New Year. The collection was Asian inspired with a rock edge. The collection colored in red, black and white features a fun print of silkscreened images of President Obama in sunglasses laughing.

In addition to the playfulness, Vivienne makes a philanthropic statement by incorporating the SaveLoveGive logo in her designs to promote the organization that encourages eliminating waste (printed bills, texts, etc) and proposes online management of wireless plans that with the savings gives microloans to women in need.

I have always enjoyed Vivienne's adaption of new technology. This season she brings a QR code dress to life as the dot matrix image as seen above in the dress worn by Vivenne herself.
