When Chloe was two her favorite thing to do was to go inside my handbag and take out everything, especially the contents of my wallet. Merge this curiosity with the love kids have for flap books and the ingenious book, What's in Your Purse? by Abigail Samoun (published by Chronicle Books) which tells the tale of a family (mommy, grandma, auntie, sister and little girl aka "you") through the contents of their purse. It's not just all about flipping through the flaps, the book also features questions on each page so the reader can find out more about each character through their contents. Questions like: "When was Grandma born?" and "Who sent sis a text message" let girls discover the answers from the many object clues in the purse. The illustration by Nathalie Dion are oh so stylish and on trend for each family member. It's the cutest book for a little girl and the "purse" handles on the book make it fun for them to carry when they are on the go.

It's an excellent subscription kit in my book and not only gets kids excited, but teaches them all about the world we are in.

My daughter Chloe (now 5 1/2 years old) received the World Edition to try out and I can't believe how much she loves it.

We also received the first adventure kit that would typically come the next month. For this package, we received Japan and Chloe loved the whole process of learning about Japan through Sam and Sofia's trip. She loved the sushi eraser and the origami papers. She immediate put the pin sticker on the world map - a great touch to give a kid perspective on the world and where they have "traveled to". She also put the Japan sticker in her passport. We did some of the activities together since she is still a new reader. We haven't tried the online activities yet but we hope to soon. It's a huge hit and Chloe is already asking where we will go next month!

I don't have the USA set to review but I am also looking forward to having her subscribe to that in a few years. What a smart way to know all the states and capitals. I remember how hard it was for me to just memorize and not fully understand all of the nuances of each state.

Daddy Wrong Legs by Nina Laden (published by Chronicle Books) takes board books to the next level with it's split pages, allowing toddlers to mix and match various animal/human "daddies" to silly legs. Prepare for lots of giggles from you and your little one with this book. I also discovered that this book is a fun and easy-to-read one for preschoolers just starting to read.

Little Passports 5th Birthday Celebration at Bay Area Discovery Museum on April 26th

Bring your entire family to help celebrate Little Passport's 5th Birthday at the Bay Area Discovery Museum! Little Passports is an innovative, creative, and fun subscription service founded by two SF moms. Kids are inspired to learn about the world with monthly packages filled with souvenirs, letters, activities and more, each from a new destination! (Look for a review on Coquette Maman soon!)

The Birthday Celebration is a free event where kids (recommended for ages 5+) can go around the world and participate in hands-on crafts, science experiments and educational activities. There will also be a "globetrotting" photo booth. Don't miss the fun!

DayOne Baby Reopens in San Francisco

DayOne Baby has now reopened in San Francisco! The new location on Sacramento Street has everything you need to learn how to care for your new baby, just as it did before. Five years ago, when I was pregnant with Chloe this was *the* place I was going to every other day. I would weigh Chloe on one of their many scales or attend one of their baby/mom groups. The classes were so fantastic! In addition to the baby/mom groups, I took infant CPR and even took a baby sign language class.

The lactation consultant at DayOne helped me get on track and get the hang of breastfeeding much better than any of the nurses at the hospital. Many of the key baby tips I learned overall were from DayOne. Which is why I am so excited they have opened up again so I can tell new moms to be to check it out!
